Pre-Employment Instructor/ Case Manager

Public Image Partnership seeks an instructor for an Illinois Youth Investment Program. The program prepares 18-24 year olds for and places them in employment via the Illinois WorkNet electronic platform. IYIP targets youth seeking long-term employment who may not have identified a desired career path. The instructor will guide youth in program enrollment via WorkNet and navigate the platform to determine employment readiness and workplace skills, life skills and any barriers to education and employment. Youth will then be guided in developing short/long term career and educational employment plans, all via WorkNet. The instructor will consult with the IYIP team to develop individual case plans, with the involvement of the youth. In summary, IYIP involves job readiness activities, guidance in creating long term career and educational plans, short-term job placement in paid work experiences, with wages paid by the grant, culminating in placement in permanent jobs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social services desirable or related experience,

• Familiarity with Illinois WorkNet and Pathways or acumen to become thoroughly proficient with the WorkNet domain

• Skill in case management, case noting and preparing reports,

• Participation in all WorkNet technical assistance seminars

• Experience in adult education, counseling and/or employment services is desirable

• Experience in social services is desirable

• Proficiency in basic Office platforms
